Palestinian artists Motaz Malhees, Samah Milad and Aws Adnan Al Zubaidy joined forces with three Pakistani actors, Aisha Hassan, Kashif Hussain and Najma Kifayat in Karachi, Pakistan! Under the direction of The Freedom Theatre’s Artistic Director, Nabil Al-Raee, they produced a play on ‘The Power of Narrative‘ which was performed at the NAPA International Theatre and Music Festival 2018 on Saturday 24th March, with production and stage management by Mohammed Yousef Abu Attiya. This festival, the largest of its kind in the region, welcomed global artists from Germany, Iran, England, Egypt, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, America and the United Arab Emirates.
The play was produced by the National Academy of Performing Arts and in collaboration with The Freedom Theatre.

The Power of Narrative‘ delves into how, and why, we weave narratives, through stories and histories of both groups and individuals. How a simple shift in the narrative can have such a powerful impact on people’s behaviour. The actors use the negative role portrayed by the narrative; one that contributes to creating other narratives and stories that are not their own. All stories are ultimately about change – how can we believe all what has been said and narrated by others, about ourselves? With this play, the actors use the stage and the power of theatre to remind the audience about all the things that have been forgotten…
Congratulations to our team and NAPA for putting on a fantastic performance. Thank you Karachi, thank you NAPA and everyone who came out to support us!
