The Freedom Theatre’s documentary Journey of a Freedom Fighter will be screened at Festival Ciné-Palestine in Paris, on Sunday May 29 at 17:00 in Cinema Luminor Hôtel de Ville, 40 rue du Temple. Ahmad Al Rokh, actor at The Freedom Theatre, will be present at the Q&A following the screening.
Journey of a Freedom Fighter follows Rabea Turkman on his journey from armed resistance fighter to cultural resistance fighter. He joined the armed resistance during the second Intifada and then, at the recommendation of a friend and fellow fighter, decided to join The Freedom Theatre in Jenin Refugee Camp following an amnesty deal in 2007.
Ahmad Al Rokh is also presenting The Idol, by acclaimed Palestinian filmmaker Hany Abu-Assad, about the life of Mohammad Assaf from Gaza who became a worldwide sensation after winning the Arab Idol competition in 2013. The film features Al Rokh along with several other actors from The Freedom Theatre.
