According to the recent Coronavirus outbreak, the president announced a state of emergency in Palestine for 30 days which started on March 5 2020, most likely to be extended for the coming weeks and possibly months.
As many places all over the world, the West Bank is slowly but surely growing uneasy about the coronavirus. Cities are cordoned off, all events are cancelled, cafes are closed and the streets have become eerily empty. People have been told to stop using public transport and should have minimal and only necessary travel inside the West Bank.
For this reason, the Freedom Ride will also be postponed; we hope to run it in Autumn 2020 however this could extend until 2021. Additionally, the festival of cultural resistance will be taken online and we will present some excerpts of the scheduled performances through our social media channels. We are currently in the process or arranging this and we will update you very soon with further details.
We hope you are well and safe and #StayingAtHome. With peace and resistance from Jenin camp.
