On Saturday April 29 and Sunday April 30, The Freedom Theatre will present two stand-up comedy performances, with emerging Palestinian comedic talents. The performances are the outcome of an intensive workshop with British comedians Mark Thomas and Sam Beale, who have worked with young artists at The Freedom Theatre with the aim of establishing the first comedy club in Palestine.
The shows are dedicated to the over 1,500 Palestinian prisoners in occupation prisons currently on an open-ended hunger strike for freedom and dignity. Read more about the hunger strike.
Performers: Alaa Shehada, Amir Abu Alrob, Faisal Abu Alhayjaa, Jawwad Shalabi, Micaela Miranda, Motaz Malhees, Nabil Al-Raee, Osama Al Azeh, Raneen Odeh, Saber Shreim, Saja Marae and Shahd Samara.
The performance will be in Arabic. Come prepared to laugh at hilarious, honest accounts of life in occupied Palestine!
