Festivals In 2008 The Freedom Theatre displayed its first youth photography exhibition titled Freedom and Oppression, exploring the exploring the concept of freedom and exposing the oppression which affects Palestinians today – in their homes, their community, and as a nation. Festivals

Painting in the Exhibition The Freedom Theatre organises regular festivals in Jenin Refugee Camp. In 2007 a Circus Festival was held and in the summer of 2009 The Freedom Theatre organised its first Theatre Festival, hosting more than 30 shows for children and youth.

Field Trips

Isolated by checkpoints and heavy restrictions on travel, most children and youth in Jenin Refugee Camp have either little or no experience of life outside their community.

The Freedom Theatre has therefore organises regular field trips for its different groups, allowing them to visit towns, theatres and projects similar to their own in other parts of Palestine and abroad.

In addition, the organisation’s international friends and partners have made it possible for youth to take part in international tours and workshops.

At the beginning of 2009, the first group of youth actors at The Freedom Theatre completed a tour in France, organised by Les Amis du Théâtre de la Liberté de Jénine and the theatre’s acting school students are taking part in a tour in Germany and Austria later in the year as part of KinderKulturKarawane.
