Performances and Cinema
In an attempt to combat the sense of isolation and the cultural blockade that characterises life under occupation, The Freedom Theatre is running a programme of regular shows and performances, by Palestinian as well as international artists, in its newly renovated and well-equipped theatre in Jenin Camp. As the only community theatre in northern Palestine, it aims to reach children, youth as well as adults in the whole Jenin area.
The programme currently includes performances in theatre, dance, circus and music, and in the near future The Freedom Theatre will also be able to organise regular film screenings in this space. Through these activities The Freedom Theatre hopes to provide the children and youth who take part in regular activities with an important reference point for their own activities, while also offering the general population some new, entertaining and thought-provoking experiences - something out of the ordinary.
