The Freedom Theatre has recently launched a new Circus Project, in cooperation with the Palestine National Circus School. Groups of children and youth thus take part in weekly workshops with professional trainers from Ramallah, practicing clownery and other circus skills.
This project builds upon the healing effect of laughter, which is applied in various forms in modern health care. Combined with theatre and drama, which have a well documented positive effect on children's psychological well-being, clownery and circus have an interesting strengthening effect, which is both physical and mental.
The Freedom Theatre is currently also developing a new Music Project, in partnership with Sabreen Music Institute in Jerusalem. The participants of this project will be introduced to the basic elements of music, including sound, timbre, rhythmic patterns, repetition and dynamics, and thus gain the tools and skills to express themselves musically.
